SafetyNet PetAssist Supports the Central Coast Homeless Connect Day

On Thursday 15th May, SafetyNet PetAssist proudly participated in the Central Coast Homeless Connect Day, held at the Gosford Showground and led by Uniting Doorways.

This important community event brought together a wide range of service providers to facilitate essential support for people who are either at risk of, or currently experiencing, homelessness – a growing concern on the Central Coast, one of Australia’s most challenging regions for accessing stable housing.

At the event, we were able to raise awareness of our program with many new partner organisations1, strengthening our growing referral network. We were also able to connect directly with individuals who may benefit from our urgent care veterinary service.  In addition, we were heartened to meet several cherished pets on the day – thankfully all in good health – underscoring the powerful bond between people and their pets, and the importance of preserving that connection.
The strong presence and interest in our service, highlighted just how important community partnerships and client engagement are and how pivotal they are to the next phase of our rollout – to create a nationwide service.

With your continued support and growing community awareness, we grow closer to our mission: no one in crisis should have to choose between their own needs and those of their pet.
